Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes, boiled, peeled and cut into large pieces
- 1 cup green peas, boiled
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon grated garlic
- 6-8 curry leaves
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add ginger, garlic, curry leaves and onion. Mix well and saute for a minute.
- Add tomato. Mix well and cook till the oil separates. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and yogurt. Mix well and cook for two to three minutes.
- Add potatoes, green peas and half cup of water. Stir to mix and bring it to a boil. Cover and simmer till gravy is thick, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
