Ingredients
- 2 cups shelled green peas
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon all spice powder
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
- ¼ cup fresh parsley
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for deep frying

- Hummus
- Pickled veggies
- Pitted green and black olives
- Toasted pita breads
- French fries
Method
- Coarsely crush the green peas, garlic, salt, cumin powder, all spice powder, crushed black peppercorns, mint and parsley in a food processor. Transfer it in a large bowl. Add onion and lemon juice and mix till well combined. Add dried bread crumbs and mix.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Take small portions of the mixture and shape each portion into a falafel.
- Slide in the falafels, a few at a time, into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with hummus, pickled veggies, green and black olives, toasted pita breads and French fries.
