Ingredients list for Mutton Kadhi - SK Khazana
- 500 grams Boneless mutton cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 cup Gram flour
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Garlic-green chilli paste
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-green chilli paste
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
- 6-8 Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 2 Medium onions sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 1 Medium tomato finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- a pinch Green cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1 Fresh coriander sprig
Method
- Put mutton pieces in a bowl. Add garlic-green chilli paste and salt, mix well and set aside to marinate for 20-25 minutes.
- Take gram flour, yogurt, ginger-green chilli paste and salt in a bowl, add sufficient water and mix to a thin mixture.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add peppercorns, cloves, ginger, green chillies and onions and mix well.
- Add salt and asafoetida, mix well and sauté till onions turn golden brown. Add tomato, mix and cook till it turns soft and pulpy.
- Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder, mix well and cook for a minute.
- Add marinated mutton pieces and mix. Add sufficient water and salt, mix well, cover and cook till mutton is tender.
- Add gram flour-yogurt mixture and stir to mix. Add cardamom powder and coriander leaves, mix well and bring to a boil.
- Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
