Toovar Dana Toast

Method

  1. Transfer fresh pigeon peas into a grinder jar, add cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, green chillies, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt, sugar and 2-3 tablespoons water and grind to a coarse paste.
  2. Transfer the paste into a bowl, add onion and coriander leaves and mix well.
  3. Place the bread slices on worktop and apply the pigeon pea mixture evenly on each slice.
  4. Heat a non-stick tawa. Add butter and once it melts, place the bread slices on it. Sprinkle black sesame seeds and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip, drizzle some more butter around the bread slices and cook the other side for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Cut each bread slice into 4 triangles, arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
