By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 Apr 2015 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Green Peas, Rice Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Green Pea Masala Pulao 1 cup Green Peas 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds 1/2 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 inch piece Ginger 3-4 cloves Garlic 1 Green chilli 1/4 Fresh coriander leaves roughly chopped 2 large Onions chopped 1 tablespoon Scraped coconut 2 inch stick Cinnamon 4 Cloves 4 Black peppercorns 2 tablespoons Oil 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder 2 tablespoons Jaggery (gur) grated to taste Salt 2 teaspoons Ghee Method Grind coriander seeds, fennel seeds, ginger, garlic, green chilli, coriander leaves, half the onions, coconut, one inch cinnamon, two cloves, two peppercorns to a fine paste with sufficient water. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add the remaining cinnamon, cloves and peppercorns and sauté for half a minute. Add the remaining onion and sauté till golden brown. Add green peas, ground masala and sauté till the oil separates. Add rice, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and sauté for two to three minutes. Add three cups of water, jaggery, salt and mix well. Cover and cook till the rice is three-fourth done. Drizzle ghee, cover and cook till the rice is completely done. Serve hot.
