Ingredients

  • 4 burger buns
  • 8 readymade fried veg burger patties
  • 1 cup refined flour (maida)
  • ½ cup corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika powder               
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder              
  • ½ teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Tomato ketchup as required
  • Assorted lettuce leaves as required
  • Mayonnaise as required
  • Onion slices as required
  • Cucumber slices as required
  • Tomato slices as required
  • 4 cheese slices
  • French fries for serving

Method

  1. Slit the burger buns horizontally.
  2. Take refined flour in a bowl, add corn flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika powder, ½ teaspoon black pepper powder, dried mixed herbs, red chilli flakes and 1 cup water and whisk well.
  3. Take panko breadcrumbs in a plate, add salt, remaining black pepper powder and remaining smoked paprika powder and mix well.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the burger buns in the flour batter and roll in panko mixture. Slide into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Place each lower half of the burger buns on worktop and drizzle some tomato ketchup on it. Arrange lettuce leaves and place a patty on top. Drizzle some mayonnaise and place some onion slices on top.
  6. Place one more patty and drizzle some more ketchup on top. Place cucumber slices and tomato slices on top and sprinkle salt and black pepper powder over them. Place a cheese slice.
  7. Drizzle some mayonnaise on the inner side of the remaining halves and place on top of each prepared burger, mayonnaise side facing down.
  8. Skewer 4 cherry tomatoes on 4 wooden sticks and insert in each prepared burger to secure them
  9. Place each burger on a serving plate and serve with French fries and tomato ketchup.
