Ingredients
- 300 grams cottage cheese (paneer), cut into ½ inch cubes
- 4 burger buns, halved
- 2 tablespoons butter + for toasting
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- ¾ cup tomato puree
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon pav bhaji masala
- 1 medium green capsicum, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Mayonnaise as required
- Tomato ketchup as required
- 4 cheese cubes
- Potato chips to serve
Method
- Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour.
- Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add tomato puree and salt, mix well and cook till the fat separates.
- Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and pav bhaji masala, mix well and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add capsicum and mix well. Add ½ cup water, mix and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add cottage cheese and coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Switch the heat off.
- Heat some butter on a non-stick tawa. Place the bun halves on it and toast for a few seconds on each side.
- Apply some mayonnaise and tomato ketchup on the bottom half of the buns. Place a portion of the prepared mixture on each. Grate 1 cheese on top of each portion. Cover with the top half of the buns.
- Place them on separate serving plates and serve hot with potato chips and tomato ketchup.
