Ingredients

  • 5-6 leftover rotis
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • ¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic 
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ¼ cup sour curd
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Yogurt to serve

Method

  1. Tear the rotis into 4-5 pieces in a bowl.
  2. Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chillies. Sauté for a minute on medium heat.
  3. Add asafoetida and sauté for few seconds. Add the roti pieces and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat till rotis becomes hard.
  4. Add garlic, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and sour curd in the pan.
  5. Add 2 cups water and mix well. Add sugar and lemon juice. Mix well.
  6. Serve hot with yogurt, garnished with chopped coriander.
