Ingredients list for Vaghareli Roti

  • 5-6 Leftover chapattis
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup Sour yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • for garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to serve Yogurt


  1. Tear each roti into 4-5 pieces and put in a bowl.
  2. Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute on medium heat.
  3. Add the roti pieces and mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
  4. Add garlic, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, sour curd and 2 cups water and mix well. Add sugar and lemon juice and mix well.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with yogurt.
