Ingredients
- 8 pavs
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ inch ginger, chopped
- 4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- ½ cup fresh fenugreek leaves (methi), chopped
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- Fresh coriander sprigs for garnish
- Tea to serve
Method
- Break pavs into small pieces and put them in a large bowl.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till their colour changes. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies, mix and sauté till fragrant.
- Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown. Add tomato, fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves and mix well. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook till the tomato becomes pulpy. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder, and mix well.
- Add 1 cup water and mix well. Add pav pieces and mix well. Add ½ cup water, mix well, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Take the pan off the heat.
- Transfer into a serving plate, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with a cup of hot tea.
