Ingredients list for Paneer Jhalfraezi

  • 100 grams Paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1/2 medium Green capsicum
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 medium Red capsicum
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Vinegar

  1. Cut red and green capsicums into thin long slices. Slice onions thickly. Slice green chillies into thin long strips.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan and add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, add onion and sauté.
  3. Cut tomato into thin long strips. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, tomato and capsicums to the pan and mix.
  4. Slice ginger and cut into thin strips and add. Cut paneer into fingers. Mix the vegetables well. Add paneer, salt, garam masala powder and mix.
  5. Chop coriander leaves and add half of them. Add vinegar and toss lightly. Cook till heated through. Serve hot garnished with remaining coriander leaves.
