Ingredients list for Green Chicken Tikka
- 250 grams Boneless chicken legs, cut into 1½ inch pieces
- ¼ cup Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi)
- ¼ cup Fresh spinach leaves (palak) shredded
- ¼ cup Fresh mint leaves
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 5-6 Garlic cloves
- 1 inch Ginger
- 1-2 Green chillies roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 2-3 tablespoons Yogurt
- for basting Oil for greasing and
- 4-6 Cherry tomatoes halved
- as required Cucumber triangles
- as required Small onions roundels
- for garnishing Green chutney
Method
- Take chicken in a bowl. Add salt, lemon juice, chilli powder and butter and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat an electric griller.
- Grind together garlic cloves, ginger and green chillies to a paste. Add fenugreek leaves, spinach leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves and a little water and grind again to a smooth paste.
- Add the ground paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and yogurt to marinated chicken and mix well.
- Grease the preheated griller with some oil, place the marinated chicken pieces and grill, basting with some oil a couple of times, till evenly cooked and golden on both sides, basting with some oil.
- Skewer 1 halved cherry tomato, 1 cucumber triangle, 1 onion roundel and 1 grilled chicken piece on each toothpick and place on a serving platter.
- Drizzle some green chutney on top and serve hot.
