Ingredients
- ½ cup yogurt
- 1 tablespoon gram flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 3-4 cloves
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 6-8 curry leaves
- 2-3 dried red chillies
- 2-3 green chillies, slit
- ½ teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- ¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
Method
- Take yogurt in a bowl, add gram flour and 1 ½ cups water and whisk till smooth. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a deep pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, curry leaves, dried red chillies, green chillies slit, fenugreek seeds and asafoetida and sauté for a few seconds.
- Slowly pour yogurt-gram flour mixture into the pan and whisk continuously. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add sugar and salt and mix. Cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat, stirring in between.
- Take the pan off the heat and serve hot.
