Ingredients list for Bean Sprout Kadhi
- 1 cup Moong Sprouts blanched
- 1 cup Yogurt blanched
- 2 cups Yogurt
- 3 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 inch piece Ginger
- 2 Green chillies
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 5-6 Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
- 10-12 Black peppercorns
- 2-3 Dried red chillies
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
Method
- Whisk yogurt, a little water, gram flour, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder in a bowl till smooth.
- Grind ginger and green chilli with a little water and add and mix.
- Heat oil in a non stick pan, add cloves, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, dried red chillies and asafoetida and sauté till fragrant.
- Pour in the yogurt mixture and cook, stirring continuously, till it comes to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let it simmer till the kadhi thickens.
- Add moong and moth sprouts and mix well.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or parantha.
