Ingredients list for Anda Dal Tadka - SK Khazana

  • 4 Eggs
  • 3 cups Cooked dal
  • 3 medium Onions chopped
  • 5 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger chopped
  • 2 Red chillies
  • 1 large Tomato chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi)
  • for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs


  1. Break the eggs into a bowl, add 1 onion, 2 tbsps coriander leaves, 1 green chilli and salt and whisk well.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add butter and let it melt. Add garlic, ginger and remaining green chillies, mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes or till the raw smells disappear.
  3. Add red chillies, mix and sauté for 30 seconds. Add remaining onion, mix and sauté till golden brown.
  4. Add tomato and salt, mix and sauté till tomatoes become pulpy.
  5. Reduce heat, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder, mix and saute for 1 minute.
  6. Add the egg mixture and cook, stirring continuously, for 2 minutes. Add dal, mix well, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add remaining coriander leaves. Crush kasuri methi and add and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil.
  8. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprigs and serve hot.
