You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Anda Butter Masala Sandwich - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Eggs 4

  • White bread slices 8

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Tomato chopped 1 small

  • Onion chopped 1 small

  • Carrot cut into thin strips 1 medium

  • Green capsicum cut into thin strips 1 large

  • Cabbage thinly shredded 1/2 small

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Mayonnaise 1 tablespoon

  • Butter 8 teaspoons

  • Processed cheese as required

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Break eggs intp a large bowl whisk well with a fork. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chillies, tomato and onion and mix well.

Step 2

Take carrot in another bowl, add carrot, capsicum, cabbage, crushed black peppercorns, salt and mayonnaise and mix well.

Step 3

For each sandwich, heat 2 tsps butter on a non-stick tawa and let it melt. Dip 2 bread slices in the egg mixture so that both sides are well coated and place them on the hot tawa.

Step 4

Cook for 1 minute and flip. Place a portion of the vegetable filling on one bread and spread it evenly. Grate some cheese over the vegetables and cook for 1 minute.

Step 5

Cover with the second slice and press it gently.

Step 6

Cook for 1-2 minutes on both sides. Take it off the heat and cut into triangles.

Step 7

Transfer them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
