Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Aloo Anardana Chaat Recipe

  • Potatoes boiled, peeled and cut into cubes 4 medium

  • Pomegranate pearls fresh ½ cup

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1-2

  • Fresh mint leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped, 1 tablespoon + for garnishing

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon + for sprinkling

  • Salt to taste

  • Roasted peanuts 1 tablespoon

  • Green chutney as required

  • Yogurt as required

  • Sev as required


Step 1

Put potatoes, onion, green chillies, mint leaves and coriander leaves in a bowl and mix. Add lemon juice, chaat masala, salt and peanuts and mix well.

Step 2

Put some potato mixture and pomegranate pearls in individual serving bowls. Drizzle some green chutney and yogurt. Sprinkle some chaat masala and some sev. Repeat the process till all ingredients are used.

Step 3

Drizzle some more yogurt and green chutney and put some sev on top.

Step 4

Serve immediately garnished with chopped coriander.
