Little Millet Burfi

Burfi is a mithai that is omnipresent in Indian homes, be it at festivals or some special occasion. And if you can make a burfi with millet that will be really tasty then why not?

Ingredients

Method

  1. Transfer little millet into a grinder jar and grind to fine powder.
  2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add ground powder and gram flour, mix and saute for 6-8 minutes.
  3. Add coconut and mix well. Add sugar, mix and cook till sugar melts. 
  4. Add green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and milk, mix and cook till the mixture is thick.
  5. Add khoya and saffron, mix and cook till khoya melts.
  6. Transfer the mixture onto a greased burfi tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle mixed nuts on top and set aside for 2-3 hours.
  7. Cut into squares and serve.
