Ingredients
- ½ cup little millet
- ½ cup ghee
- ½ cup gram flour (besan)
- ½ cup scraped fresh coconut
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup grated khoya / mawa
- 8-10 saffron strands
- Chopped mixed nuts to sprinkle
Method
- Transfer little millet into a grinder jar and grind to fine powder.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add ground powder and gram flour, mix and saute for 6-8 minutes.
- Add coconut and mix well. Add sugar, mix and cook till sugar melts.
- Add green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and milk, mix and cook till the mixture is thick.
- Add khoya and saffron, mix and cook till khoya melts.
- Transfer the mixture onto a greased burfi tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle mixed nuts on top and set aside for 2-3 hours.
- Cut into squares and serve.
