Ingredients
- 250 grams soaked chickpeas
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika powder
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 small onion, roughly chopped
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- ¼ cup roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves
- ¼ cup roughly chopped fresh parsley leaves
- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
- Oil to spray
- Hummus / your choice of dip to serve
Method
- Transfer chickpeas into a food processor jar, add salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder, paprika powder, lemon juice, onion, garlic, coriander leaves and parsley and process into coarse mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add sesame seeds and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180° C for 2-3 minutes.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Flatten each ball slightly to make a falafel.
- Spray some oil on air fryer basket and arrange the falafels in a single layer in it.
- Spray some oil on top, fit the basket into the air fryer and air fry for 25 minutes.
- Bring the fryer out, arrange the falafels in a serving bowl and serve with hummus or your choice of dip.
