Ingredients list for Simple Prawn Pulao
- 16-20 Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined
- 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked for 15-20 minutes
- 2-3 tablespoons Oil
- 2-3 Cloves
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 5-6 Black peppercorns
- 2-3 Green cardamoms
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon, peppercorns, green cardamoms and sauté for a minute.
- Add onion and mix well. Add salt, mix and sauté till onion turns golden.
- Add prawns, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masalapowder and chopped coriander and mix well.
- Add rice and salt, mix well. And 2 cups water and coconut milk and mix well.Cover and cook till prawns and rice are completely done.
- Serve hot.
