Ingredients list for Prawns Ghee Roast - SK Khazana
- 400 grams Medium prawns shelled, deveined, washed and patted dry
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 4-5 Dried red chillies
- 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
- 6-8 Cloves
- 8-10 Black peppercorns
- 8-10 cloves Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
- 3 tablespoons Yogurt whisked
- 1 tablespoon Jaggery chopped
- 10-12 + to garnish Curry leaves
Method
- Take prawns in a bowl, salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
- Dry-roast dried red chillies in a non-stick pan and transfer into a bowl. Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves and black peppercorns in the same non-stick pan till fragrant.
- Transfer all the spices into a grinder jar. Add garlic, tamarind pulp and sufficient water and grind to a smooth paste.
- Heat ghee in the same non-stick pan, add the ground paste, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add yogurt, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add salt and mix well. Add the marinated prawns and mix well. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Add jaggery, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add curry leaves, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with curry leaves and serve hot.
