Ingredients list for Piri Piri Pakoras
- 2-3 medium Potatoes with skin
- to taste Salt
- 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon Baking soda
- for deep-frying Oil
- for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- Spice mix
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- ½ teaspoon Dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon Stock cubes crushed
- a pinch Cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- to taste Salt
- a pinch Powdered sugar
Method
- Thinly slice potatoes into a bowl of water. Add salt, mix and set aside.
- Mix together gram flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and sufficient water to make a thick batter. Add baking soda and mix.
- To make the spice mix, take onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, crushed stock cube, cinnamon powder, chilli flakes, salt and powdered sugar in a bowl and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Dip the potato slices, one by one, in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Sprinkle the prepared spice mix over them and mix lightly.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
