Ingredients list for Nutriwale Chawal - SK Khazana
- 1 cup Basmati rice soaked for 15 minutes
- 1 cup Soya granules
- 1 cup Milk
- 3-4 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 6 Green cardamoms
- 3-4 Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 3 Medium onions chopped
- 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
- 2-3 Green chillies chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 Medium tomatoes chopped
- to taste Salt
- 2 tablespo to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
Method
- Take the soya granules in a bowl, add milk and let them soak for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves and cumin seeds, sauté till colour changes.
- Add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger paste and garlic paste, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, mix well and sauté. Add tomatoes and salt, mix well and sauté till tomatoes turn pulpy.
- Add soaked soya granules and mix well. Cover and cook till dry.
- Drain and add rice, mix and sauté for 2 minutes. Add 1½ cups water and mix well. Add garam masala powder and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Cover and cook on low heat till rice is done. Stir once or twice while rice is cooking.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
