Ingredients
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
- 4-5 tablespoons yogurt
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1-2 green chillies, broken into small pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Fresh coriander sprigs for garnish
Method
- Take potato cubes in a bowl, add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add 1 tsp cumin seeds and saute till their colour changes. Add green chillies and asafoetida and mix well.
- Add potatoes and mix well. Add sugar and coriander leaves and mix well. Add 1 cup water and a pinch of salt and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add lemon juice, and mix well. Take the pan off the heat and transfer into a bowl. Add yogurt and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve.
