Ingredients list for Chicken Bharta
- 1/2 kilogram Chicken Mince mince
- 3 large Onion
- 3 tablespoons Mustard oil
- 4 Black cardamoms
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon ginger finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
- 3 Green chillies
- 3 large Red tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- a pinch Turmeric powder
- 2 Chicken stock cubes powdered
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- Juice of ½ lemon
Method
- Finely chop onions. Add 1 cup water to the chicken mince and set aside.
- Heat mustard oil in a non-stick wok, add black cardamoms, bay leaves, black peppercorns and asafoetida and saute till fragrant.
- Add cumin seeds, ginger and garlic and sauté till garlic is lightly browned.
- Add onions and sauté for a minute. Cut green chillies into 2 and add to the wok. Finely chop the tomatoes, add to the wok and sauté till pulpy.
- Add Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, powdered chicken stock cubes, garam masala powder and salt and mix. Add chicken mince and mix well. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Add coriander leaves, lemon juice and mix well.
- Switch off the heat, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
