Ingredients
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 1/4 tablespoons cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 4 teaspoons coriander powder
- 2 1/2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Ginger juliennes for garnishing
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for a while.
- Combine ginger paste and garlic paste in a bowl. Add a little water and mix well to dilute the pastes. Add this to the pan, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook for a while.
- Add potatoes, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add 1 cup water, salt, stir to mix and bring it to a boil. Lower heat, cover and cook till the potatoes are soft.
- Add yogurt, garam masala powder and chopped coriander. Mix well and bring to a boil.
- Garnish with ginger juliennes and serve hot.
