Ingredients
- ¾ cup foxtail millet
- ½ cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons boiled and crushed green peas
- 2 tablespoons grated carrot
- 2 tablespoons chopped cabbage
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons grated processed cheese
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon chaat masala
- Melted butter to grease
- Green chutney for serving
Method
- Transfer foxtail millet into a grinder jar and grind to fine powder.
- Transfer into a bowl, add yogurt, green peas, carrot, cabbage, coriander leaves, green chillies, crushed black peppercorns, salt, processed cheese, turmeric powder and chaat masala and mix well. Add 1 cup water and mix well to make a smooth batter. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat a waffle iron and grease with melted butter, pour a ladleful of batter, close the lid and cook for 8-10 minutes on medium heat. Make more waffles with remaining batter.
- Cut and place on a serving plates and serve hot with green chutney.
