Ingredients

  • 1½ cups cleaned, shelled and chopped prawns (kolambi)
  • green chillies, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 2 teaspoons agri koli masala
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup rice flour
  • ½ cup gram flour (besan)
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Green chutney for serving

 

 

Method

  1. Take prawns in a bowl, add green chillies, turmeric powder, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli powder, garlic, agri koli masala, coriander leaves, onion, salt and lemon juice and mix well. Set aside for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add rice flour and gram flour and mix well. Add 2-3 tablespoons water and mix well.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the prepared mixture and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Transfer onto a serving bowl and serve hot with green chutney.
