Ingredients

Method

  1. Put garlic in a grinder jar, add green chillies, coriander stems and ¼ cup water and grind to a fine paste.
  2. Transfer the ground paste on a plate, add turmeric powder, Malvani masala and 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.
  3. Squeeze lemon into the above mixture, add salt and mix well. Apply this marinade over fish darnes evenly and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Spread semolina on a plate, add remaining red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
  5. Roll the marinated fish darnes evenly in semolina mixture.
  6. Heat sufficient oil on an iron tawa, place the fish darnes on it and shallow-fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with green chutney, onion roundels and lemon wedges.
