Ingredients
- 3 cups dried black dates (chuhare), seeded
- 3½ cups milk
- 2 tablespoons + ¼ cup ghee
- ¼ cup chopped almonds
- ¼ cup chopped cashewnuts
- 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
- 2 tablespoons grated dried coconut
- ½ cup grated khoya/mawa
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
Method
- Heat milk in a pan, add the, mix well and cook on medium heat for 35-40 minutes or till they soften completely. Set aside to cool.
- Transfer into a blender jar and grind to a coarse paste.
- Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a pan, add almonds, cashewnuts, pistachios and coconut, mix and sauté till golden brown. Transfer into a bowl and set aside.
- Heat remaining ghee in the same pan, add the ground paste and sauté for 20-25 minutes or till the mixture is dry.
- Add khoya, mix and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add sugar, fried nuts and green cardamom powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve warm.
