Ingredients
- Thick caramel sauce as required
- ¾ cup butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1¾ cups refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180° C.
- Take butter in a bowl, add brown sugar and castor sugar, mix and beat well till the mixture is light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
- Sift refined flour, baking powder and baking soda directly into the bowl and mix well.
- Add milk and mix till the mixture is formed into soft dough.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into balls. Make a dent in the centre of half the balls, put some caramel sauce in it, cover with one of the remaining balls, press the edges to seal.
- Arrange the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
- Bring the tray out of the oven and allow the cookies to cool, transfer them into a serving bowl and serve.
