Ingredients list for Stuffed Tiger Prawns - Goan Style
- 8-10 Tiger prawns shelled, deveined with tail intact
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 small Onion finely chopped
- 4 Dried red chillies
- 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 4 Cloves
- 8 Black peppercorns
- ½ inch Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Vinegar
- ½ teaspoon Sugar
- to shallow fry Oil ½ teaspoon +
Method
- Slit prawns lengthwise without cutting through and put them in a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder and ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Set aside to marinate.
- Grind together onion, red chillies, garlic, cumin seeds, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, vinegar, salt and sugar with a little water into a fine paste.
- Heat ½ teaspoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add ground paste and sauté on low heat for a minute. Switch off heat and cool to room temperature.
- Stuff the marinated prawns with the sautéed masala, tie them with a thread and secure with a toothpick.
- Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow-fry stuffed prawns till fully cooked and golden.
- Remove the thread and the toothpick and serve hot.
