Ingredients list for Quick and Easy Chicken Curry

  • 800 grams Chicken on the bone cut into bite sized
  • 1½ teaspoons Garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • ½ inch Cinnamon
  • 2-3 Green cardamoms
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 2 medium Onions grated
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 2 cups Tomato puree
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped, 1 tablespoon +
  • 1½ teaspoons Garam masala powder

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cinnamon, cardamoms and cloves and sauté till fragrant.
  2. Add onions and sauté till well-browned. Add ginger paste and garlic paste, mix well and sauté for ½ minute.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and a little water, mix well and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add tomato puree, mix and add salt. Mix again and cook till oil separates.
  5. Add chicken pieces, salt, 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, mix well and add garam masala powder. Mix well, cover and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  6. Garnish with remaining coriander leaves and serve hot.
