Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups dried white peas, soaked for 6-8 hours
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
- 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
- 1-2 green chillies, slit
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
- 3-4 chives + to garnish
- 1 teaspoon kitchen king masala
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup shredded cabbage
- 1-2 fresh red chillies + to garnish
Method
- Take a pressure cooker, add white peas, turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups water, mix and let the mixture come to a boil. Cover with the lid and cook under pressure till pressure is released 2 times.
- Heat oil in non-stick pan, add bay leaves, ginger, garlic and green chillies, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown.
- Add coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and red chilli flakes and mix. Cut chives with scissors into the pan, mix and saute for 1 minute.
- Add cooked white peas and mix. Add salt and kitchen king masala and mix well. Add coriander leaves mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with shredded cabbage, fresh red chillies and chives and serve hot.
