Ingredients list for Kadhi Khichdi - SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Yogurt
- 3 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
- 2 cups Cooked basmati rice
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 3/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 medium Onion sliced
- 1 Dried red chilli
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped
- to serve Papad
Method
- Take yogurt, gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and 1 cup water whisk till smooth.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds and sauté till they change colour. Add ginger and sauté well. Add asafoetida and onion and sauté till translucent and mix well.
- Add dried red chilli and mix well. Add the prepared yogurt mixture and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add rice and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle chopped coriander and take the pan off the heat.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with papads.
