Jeera Broccoli

Ingredients 

  • 300 grams broccoli, separated into small florets and blanched
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 teaspoons yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add the cumin seeds. Once they change colour, add onions and sauté till golden. Add the green chilli, ginger and sauté for half a minute.
  2. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, dried mango powder and mix well. Add the tomatoes, salt, mix well and sauté till tomatoes are pulpy.
  3. Add the broccoli and toss well. Add the yogurt and mix well. Cook for four to five minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl and sprinkle garam masala powder on top.
  4. Serve hot.
