Jain Tawa Bread Pakoda These pakode are shallow-fried on a tawa – stuffed with mixed vegetables they are very tasty. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 20 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Brown bread slices, Gram flour (besan) Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Jain Tawa Bread Pakoda 8 Brown bread slices 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan) 2 Raw bananas boiled and peeled 1/2 cup Mixed bell peppers finely chopped 1 medium Tomato seeded and finely chopped 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon Fresh mint leaves chopped Chaat masala 1 teaspoon + for sprinkling 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder to taste Salt as required Butter as required Coriander chutney 1/2 cup Cabbage finely chopped 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder for shallow frying Oil Advertisment Method To prepare stuffing, combine raw bananas, mixed bell peppers, tomato, chopped coriander, chopped mint, chaat masala, chilli powder and salt in a bowl and mix well. Take 4 bread slices, spread butter and chutney over them. Add stuffing and cabbage over them. Sprinkle some chaat masala and cover with the remaining bread slices. Combine gram flour, carom seeds, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl. Add some water and mix well to make a smooth batter. Cut the prepared sandwiches into small triangles. Heat oil on a non-stick tawa. Dip each sandwich triangle in the prepared batter and shallow-fry till golden and crisp from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
