Ingredients list for Indian Meatball Mug Pie
- 250 grams Chicken mince
- as required Naan dough
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1 tablespo for shallow frying Oil
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- ½ cup Tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon Cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- as required Mozzarella cheese grated
- for coating Butter
Method
- Preheat oven to 180° C.
- Put chicken mince, salt, 1 teaspoon chilli powder, ½ teaspoon garam masala powder and coriander leaves in a bowl and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into balls.
- Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow-fry ball chicken balls from all sides till golden and half cooked. Drain on a plate.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in the same non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add onion and sauté till translucent.
- Add tomato puree, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add remaining chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, remaining garam masala powder and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add 1 cup water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add salt, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the tomato mixture in individual ovenproof serving mugs. Put few meatballs on top and repeat the process till all ingredients are used. Put mozzarella cheese on top.
- Roll out the naan dough to a thin sheet, place an inverted medium sized bowl and cut into roundels.
- Cover each mug with a roundel and brush some butter on top.
- Place the mugs on a baking tray. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve hot.
