Ingredients list for Hyderabadi Chicken - SK Khazana
- 750 grams Chicken legs
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons White sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup Peanuts
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 3 Green cardamoms
- 1/2 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
- 1 Medium onion sliced
- to garnish Fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Take chicken in a bowl, add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, yogurt and lemon juice, mix well and set aside to marinate for 35-40 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan, add sesame seeds and peanuts and roast till light golden. Transfer into a blender jar, add 2-3 tablespoons water and blend into a smooth paste. Add a little more water if required.
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cinnamon, cardamoms, garlic, ginger, mix well and sauté for a few seconds. Add onions, mix and sauté till the onions are lightly browned.
- Add sesame seeds-peanut paste, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add marinated chicken legs, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add salt and ½ cup water, mix well, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or till the chicken is completely cooked.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
