Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Hyderabadi Chicken - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken legs 750 grams

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • White sesame seeds 3 tablespoons

  • Peanuts 1/2 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cinnamon 1 inch

  • Green cardamoms 3

  • Garlic finely chopped 1/2 tablespoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 1/2 tablespoon

  • Medium onion sliced 1

  • Fresh coriander leaves to garnish

Method

Step 1

Take chicken in a bowl, add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, yogurt and lemon juice, mix well and set aside to marinate for 35-40 minutes.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick pan, add sesame seeds and peanuts and roast till light golden. Transfer into a blender jar, add 2-3 tablespoons water and blend into a smooth paste. Add a little more water if required.

Step 3

Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cinnamon, cardamoms, garlic, ginger, mix well and sauté for a few seconds. Add onions, mix and sauté till the onions are lightly browned.

Step 4

Add sesame seeds-peanut paste, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add marinated chicken legs, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add salt and ½ cup water, mix well, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or till the chicken is completely cooked.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
