Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fresh green peas
- 2 large green capsicums
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
For garnishing
- A fresh red chilli
- Thin strips of red capsicum
- Thin strips of ginger
Method
- Finely chop green capsicum and set aside.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, cumin seeds, ginger and green chillies and sauté for half a minute.
- Add green peas, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, dried mango powder and salt and mix well.
- Add green capsicum, mix and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add 1 cup water and cook for 5-6 minutes till the gravy thickens.
- Add coriander leaves and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with a fresh red chilli and thin strips of red capsicum and ginger and serve hot.
