Ingredients
- 10 strawberries
- 2 dried apricots
- 2 dried prunes
- 2 dried apples
- 2 dried figs
- 10 cashewnuts
- 5 almonds
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1 orange peel
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 4 green cardamoms
- 5 cloves
- 1 inch stick cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon rind
- 3 tablespoons honey
Method
- Wash, pat dry and hull strawberries. Chop roughly. Wash and pat dry apricots, prunes, apples and figs.
- Chop finely. Chop cashewnuts and almonds. Wash and pat dry raisins. Chop orange peel.
- Heat butter in a pan and add cardamoms, cloves and cinnamon. Sauté for one to two minutes.
- Add chopped fruits and sauté for two to three minutes. Add sugar and lemon juice.
- Mix thoroughly.Add a quarter cup of water so that the sugar does not caramelize too much. Let it boil.
- Add raisins, cashewnuts, almonds, lemon rind and orange peel. Stir in strawberries and mix well.
- Let it simmer for one to two minutes. Stir in honey. Serve hot or cold.
