Ingredients 

  • 10 strawberries
  • 2 dried apricots
  • 2 dried prunes
  • 2 dried apples
  • 2 dried figs
  • 10 cashewnuts
  • 5 almonds
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 green cardamoms
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 inch stick cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon rind
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Method

  1. Wash, pat dry and hull strawberries. Chop roughly. Wash and pat dry apricots, prunes, apples and figs.
  2. Chop finely. Chop cashewnuts and almonds. Wash and pat dry raisins. Chop orange peel.
  3. Heat butter in a pan and add cardamoms, cloves and cinnamon. Sauté for one to two minutes.
  4. Add chopped fruits and sauté for two to three minutes. Add sugar and lemon juice.
  5. Mix thoroughly.Add a quarter cup of water so that the sugar does not caramelize too much. Let it boil.
  6. Add raisins, cashewnuts, almonds, lemon rind and orange peel. Stir in strawberries and mix well.
  7. Let it simmer for one to two minutes. Stir in honey. Serve hot or cold.
