Dalia with Vegetables A spicy broken wheat dish cooked with carrots and capsicum. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Broken wheat (dalia/lapsi), Carrots Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 2.30-3 hour Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Dalia with Vegetables 1½ cups Broken wheat (dalia/lapsi) soaked 1 small Carrots grated 1 small Green capsicum chopped 2 tablespoons Oil ¼ teaspoon Mustard seeds a pinch Asafoetida 2 Green chillies chopped 15-20 Curry leaves 2 Dried red chillies broken into large bits 1 small Onion finely chopped ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder ¼ cup Roasted peanuts crushed to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Lemon juice Method Heat the oil in a non-stick kadai. Add the mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, curry leaves and red chillies. When the seeds begin to splutter, add the onion and sauté till translucent. Add the carrot and capsicum and sauté for four to five minutes. Add the broken wheat, turmeric powder, roasted peanuts and salt and mix well. Add three cups of water, mix, cover and cook till the broken wheat softens. Add lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
