Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Schezwan Momos - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken mince 150 grams

  • Refined flour dough 200 grams

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Celery finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli paste 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopepd 2-3

  • Spring onion greens chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Light soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Tomato ketchup 1 tablespoon

  • Refined flour for dusting

  • Sesame soy sauce to serve


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger, garlic and celery, mix and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2

Add chilli paste, mix well and sauté for a minute. Add ¼ cup water, stir and cook till the oil separates.

Step 3

Add salt and pepper powder and mix. Add vinegar, mix well and remove from heat.

Step 4

Mix together chicken mince, green chillies, 2 tablespoons prepared sauce, spring onion greens, soy sauce and tomato ketchup in a bowl.

Step 5

Dust worktop with some flour, place dough on it and roll out into a large thin disc. Use a medium size cookie cutter to cut out roundels from it.

Step 6

Place a portion of chicken mixture in the centre of each roundel, bring the edges together and shape into momos.

Step 7

Heat sufficient water in the lower compartment of a steamer. Place the momos in the perforated compartment over it, cover with a lid and steam for 10-15 minutes.

Step 8

Serve hot with sesame-soy dip.
