Ingredients list for Chawli Keema

  • 2 bunch Lalmaat
  • 400 grams Mutton
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 3 medium Onions
  • 3 large Tomatoes
  • 1½ tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 15-18 Fresh mint leaves
  • ½ cup Yogurt
  • 1 for garnishing Fresh mint sprigs

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, ginger and garlic and sauté for a minute. Add green chillies. Add onions and sauté till lightly browned. Add tomatoes and 2 tbsps water and sauté till the tomatoes become soft.
  2. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well. Add amaranth leaves and mutton mince, mix andcook for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add mint leaves and yogurt and cook till the mutton is done.
  4. Transfer the keemainto a serving bowl, garnish with mint sprig and serve immediately
