Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for CHICKEN KHURCHAN - skk Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into strips 500 grams

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Butter 3 tablespoons

  • Medium onions finely chopped 2

  • Medium tomatoes chopped 2

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masla powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 3 teaspoons

  • Medium green capsicum cut into strips 1

  • Large onion cut into thick slices 1

  • Dried fenugreek leaves powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Fresh cream 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh coriander sprigs to garnish

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add chicken strips and saute for 5 minutes. Drain and keep the chicken on a plate.

Step 2

Heat oil in the same pan, add garlic and ginger, mixand sauté for a minute. Add 2 tablespoons butter and onions, mix and sauté till the onions turn translucent.

Step 3

Add tomatoes, mix and saute till it turns soft and pulpy. Add green chillies, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder, mix and cook till the oil separates.

Step 4

Add remaining butter and mix well. Add salt, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, green capsicum and sliced onion and mix well.

Step 5

Add chicken strips, mix and cook till the vegetables are cooked. Add dried fenugreek leaves powder and mix well.

Step 6

Add remaining lemon juice and salt, mix and let it get heated through. Add cream and mix well.

Step 7

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprigs and serve hot.
