Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup broken wheat (dalia/lapsi), soaked
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 inch cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 10-12 black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup shelled green peas
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a non stick kadai, add bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, black peppercorns and cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add onions and sauté till translucent.
- Drain and add dalia, with red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add green peas, mint leaves and mix well.
- Add 3 cups boiling water, cover and cook till dalia is cooked well.
- Add bean sprouts and ghee and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
