Ingredients for Pithla - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves 8-10

  • Medium onions finely chopped 2

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tablespo to garnish


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves and sauté well. Add onions, mix and sauté till they turn light brown.

Step 2

Add gram flour, mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, mix and cook for another 5-6 minutes.

Step 3

Add salt and lemon juice and mix. Add 1 cup water, mix till smooth, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add coriander leaves and remove from heat.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
