Ingredients for Karara Dum Aloo Recipe

  • Potatoes peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes 3 medium

  • Papad roasted and crushed as required

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Roasted cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Bhuna masala 50 grams

  • Sugar 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Roasted peanuts For garnis as required

  • Tamarind chutney For garnis as required


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seed and when they splutter, add asafoetida and mix. Add potatoes and toss lightly. Add red chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder and toss lightly.

Step 2

Add bhuna masala, sugar, salt and mix. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with roasted peanuts, tamarind chutney, crushed papad and serve immediately.
