Ingredients list for Cucumber Chutney

  • 2 medium Cucumbers peeled
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 1 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 5-6 cloves Garlic
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 2 Dried red chillies broken
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Tamarind pulp

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, garlic cloves, curry leaves, asafoetida, red chillies and saute till fragrant.
  2. Roughly chop cucumbers and add and saute for 1 minute. Add salt and green chillies and mix well.
  3. Cool slightly and transfer into a mixer jar. Add tamarind pulp and grind coarsely. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
