By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Corn Flakes, Cashewnuts Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Cornflakes Chivda 2 cups Corn Flakes 2tbsps + to deep fry Cashewnuts 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 2 Green chillies slit 5-6 Curry leaves 20-25 Raisins 20-25 Cashewnuts 2 teaspoons Turmeric powder 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder to taste Salt 1 tablespoon Sugar 1/4 cup Roasted peanuts 1/4 cup Roasted chana dal (dalia) Method Heat oil in a pan and deep fry cornflakes till crisp but not coloured. Drain on absorbent paper. Heat two tablespoons oil in another pan and add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add green chillies, curry leaves, raisins and cashewnuts and sauté for a minute and take it off the heat. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, sugar, peanuts, chana dal and cornflakes and toss. When completely cooled, store in an airtight container in a cool dry place.
