Vrat Ki Burfi

A treat for your sweet teeth when fasting... This vrat ki burfi is a wonderful fudge made from water chestnut and almond flours with desiccated coconut to add a crunch.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add water chestnut flour and sauté, stirring continuously, on medium heat till it turns golden brown in colour.
  2. Add almond flour and desiccated coconut, mix well and continue to saute for 2-3 minutes
  3. Add milk and mix well. Add sugar, mix and cook till it dissolves and the mixture becomes thick.
  4. Add green cardamom powder and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased burfi tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle almonds on top and keep aside to set for 3-4 hours.
  6. Cut into squares, arrange them on a serving platter and serve.
